Note: I took over midseason in 2012

2013 was my first draft and I traded out of the 1st round for an extra pick in rd2. Ended up being a mediocre WR Kinney.

2013 - a great season that came up just short of a championship.

Alex Smith was POY, OPOY, & 1st Team QB
Ken Hamlin was 1st team S

Did pretty good with a undertalented Defense and a high powered offense.

Got some age issues to deal with in the coming season.

        2016 Preview

Word around the league is that the Bengals are now in rebuilding mode after missing the playoffs last year. This is evidenced by the fact that QB Alex Smith, probably the most talented QB in the entire league, was sent to Arizona in a blockbuster trade in which Cincy recieved QB Dan Orlovsky as Smith's replacement. Aside from LG Fred Matua, who is an amazing pass blocker, there really isn't much else to talk about with Cincy's offense. Due to roster changes this offseason, there isn't a whole lot of chemistry with this team right now. Similarly, the defensive side of the ball is a bit lacking aside from LDE Adam "Aircraft" Carriker and rookie MLB Brett Price. However these players should be solid guys to build a defense around in the next few years during the retooling process.

As stated, rebuilding year was barely that. Price is going to be a player but we're not high on anyone else from the draft class. We held on for dear life to finish 1-15 and not lose them all. Learned a lot more since last season about drafting though and with 5 picks in the first 2 rounds of 2017 draft we should be able to fill some of the many, many holes in this team. I'm guessing we'll have the most open roster spots of any team in the league by the start of FA. There isn't much worth keeping and 2017 will be the 2nd of the rebuild as I don't expect FA to have any saviors available.
