In 2036 The AFC North was one of the most competitive Divisions in the FFL. Three Teams ended up at 7-9, and Cincinnati won the Division at 8-8. Rarely has a Division only had 1 game separating First and last place.
As we move to 2037, this is how I see the AFC North shaping up this season
PITTSBURGH
As Long as Arizing is in charge, the Steelers will be a force to be reckoned with. Over the past 30 seasons, the Steelers have been the team to beat in this Division more often than not. This season should be no Different.
QB Cam Newton, RB Nathan Hoover, TE Darrell Gill, and WRs Toby Sermon, John Hamilton and Eddie Dawkins should put lots of Points on the board behind a strong Oline led by LG Peter Kowal.
The Defense is soild at every position and is led by WLB Roman Guthrie and CBs Kent Wheeler and DJ Hayden.
Prediction 11-5 1st Place
BALTIMORE
ace has always built strong defenses, he even took a safety at 1.1 in one draft, but now he has the pieces on offense to match his defense, and that is bad news for the other teams in the AFC.
On offense QB Terry Carter leads the way, throwing to WR Brent Marker, but Rookie RB Jerald Branch will be the key to the teams offense. The Ravens Oline is strong and deep.
The Defense will be led by safeties Kenny Vaccaro and Andre Flannery, while rookie WLB Ray Howe provides the pass rush
Baltimore will test the Steelers, and could slip into the playoffs as a wild card team
Prediction 9-7 2nd place
CINCINNATI
Beercloud won the Division last season, so you cant write the Bengals off completely, but they are going to need a running game to take some pressure off of QB Johnny Marsh before they can take the next step. A big time WR or TE would help too. Marsh has put up solid numbers, but hasnt got the weapons to score a lot of points. The Cincy Oline is very solid and also very deep.
Defensively, The Bengals are strong in the Dline, a little thin at LB and solid in the secondary.
SS Vinny Powell leads the defensive secondary, while RDE KC Sigsbee and SLB Kris Osgood lead the front 7.
With the addition of RB Branch to Baltimore and the expected resurgence of the Steelers, Cincy will struggle to repeat as Division champs.
Prediction: 8-8 3rd place
CLEVELAND
jley has assembled a strong offense and has begun to put the pieces in place on defense, but the lack of CBs and a pass rush may hurt them this season.
Rookie RB Donnell Forsyth should power the offense for years and provides a running game that QB Vernon Coles can lean on, and use in the play action passing game. WRs TJ Graham and Jeffrey Clauss should be the main targets.
C Jared Flannery leads a solid if unspectacular Oline.
Clevelands Defense will be led by FS Billy Zielinski. Their lack of Corners may be a weakness that costs them against passing teams.
Prediction 7-9 4th Place
