  • 2035 AFC West Season Preview

Denver won the West in 203 and seemed poised to control the division for a long time
2034 wasnt as kind to Denver as Kansas City reclaimed the Division while the Broncos slipped to 8-8
Oakland always seems to make a run at the end of the season, but fall just short. If they could get off to a good start one of these seasons they might be able to contend.
San Diego is in the midst of a rebuild and is searching for a GM
So how will 2035 play out...

    Kansas City
yeah, Kiper is STILL playing Wade Burroughs at QB and he is getting away with it
Does anybody remember who the Chiefs QB was, before Wade Burroughs?
Theres an old saying...To BE the man you have to BEAT the man
Im sure thats what Denver is trying to do, but a 1-2 start has them trailing KC again and Kiper smells another Division Title
KC has a solid roster, but not many "Stars". They are strong on both sides of the line and thats one of Kipers trademarks

    Denver
QB Ryan Tannehill slumped badly in 2034 after a strong 2033 season...he has played better so far this season, so thats a good sign for Bronco fans. David Wilson is among the League's best RBs and the Broncos are solid up and down the roster.
GM cyril will be watching Tannehill to see if he progresses or regresses this season...he is the key
Last season KC beat Denver 13-6 and 27-7 so its the offense that has to step up if the Broncos are going to make a run this season.

    Oakland
QB Kurt Roberts is the man on the spot in Oakland
No matter what else happens, he will be the guy that gets blamed every year the Raiders dont go to the Playoffs
GM baloo has added WRs for him to throw to, has given him a strong Oline and a solid RB and even a solid defense
So far Roberts just hasnt delivered...its that simple
A new GP may help some, but Oakland needs to start winning their division games and stringing victories together soon or it will be another 3rd place finish in 2035

    San Diego
The Chargers have 3rd yr RB Rick Carr and a solid Oline. 14th yr vet Jimmy Claussen is the QB...for now
A lack of WRs hurts this team, and CB Mo Hines is in his 11th yr now
Once The Chargers find a GM they can start the process of a rebuild, until then...its 4th place

From Inside the Huddle...Im John Clayton
