  • 2035 NFC South Season Preview

    Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are coming off a 10-6 record with a playoff berth. Finishing 5-1 in the division last season, they pretty much ran away from the competition. Atlanta bolstered their passing game this off-season with the free agent acquisition of TE Coby Fleener and drafting WR Carlton Incontro. Each player should make an immediate impact on the offensive side of the ball. Defensively, the Falcons got stronger as they upgraded the defensive line by drafting super stud DT Erik Farley. With another year under his belt as the starter, Nolan Greer should be able to lead this team to 10+ wins and a division title, again.

    Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs managed to only get 6 wins last season, but that was good enough for 2nd place in the NFC South. Tampa is looking to improve on both sides of the ball this year, as they drafted big time playmaker Howard Rucci at WR, and SEC Defensive Player of the Year, OLB Brad Rush. There are still questions at quarterback, but with Bishop and Rucci at WR, Kaepernick should be able to limit the mistakes, and lead this team to 8 wins.

    Carolina Panthers

With players like Dontari Poe, Danny Stephens, Barry Abrams, Zach Brown, and Brenden Richard, you wonder how this team only won 4 games last season. Now add WR Dixon Edwards, DT Rex Hogue, corners Vernon Warren and Antoine Holko, and this team should be ready to make a vast improvement. If the Panthers can improve on the league's worst rushing attack last year, winning 7 games shouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.

    New Orleans Saints

The Saints were the league's worst team last season, hence why they went 2-14. The good news, is that allowed them to draft a once in a decade type QB in Junior Woodard. Woodard is going to have a long rookie season. There are no playmakers on the offensive side of the ball, other than RB Mark Bobro. The Saints did very little to improve the team elsewhere this past off-season, especially on the defensive side of the ball. This will be another long year down in the Bayou, as I expect the Saints to win no more than 4 games.
