Work in Progress
Overview
Overview
When Carson Flynn was hired in 2056 from New England where he was an assistant coach. Drew Bachman had set the bar high after his retirement. The Giants had made the playoff but never advanced beyond the NFC Divisionals. Flynn did not disappoint as he continued the streak of playoff appearances.
The sum of the 2058 Giants were much better than its parts as Dennis Everrett started every game and was more of a game manager this year. Everrett connected on 26 touchdown passes and gave back only 14. This was good enough for a 10-6 record and a 1st place finish in the NFC East.
The Giants were able to win a close one in the wild card game against NFC East Rivals the Washington Redskins. This was followed by two hard fought road wins against the Rams and the Buccaneers..
The high expectations were dashed in the lost to the New York Jets which ended the season.
Coaching
Carson Flynn starts his 4th year at the helm. Offensive Coordinator CJ Spiller will need to work his magic once more it the Giants are to defend the NFC title.
On the defensive side, Defensive Coordinator Bennie Aklyama the Ex-Falcons Assistant coach returns to lead the defensive unit. Aklyama runs a solid 4-3 defense which is the preferred defense in New York.
