  • Week Two: Uninspired Texans Fall To 0-2 In Home Opener

Michael Shiparo's 33 yard TD reception from QB Clarence Arnswadlt put Seattle ahead for good mid way through the fourth as the Seahawks beat Houston 17-10 in front of 59,000 irate fans.

Despite holding Seattle to just 10 first downs, 62 yards rushing and 181 yards passing, Houston could not muster enough offense to bring home the victory.

Seattle led 7-3 at the half on a 35 yard TD pass to Harvey Fulcher. Arnswaldt finished 16 of 32 for 181 yard, 2 TD passes and 2 INTs for the Seahawks. Jimmie Thomas notched 42 yards to led the team in rushing.

C.J. Grant looked good all afternoon with 154 yards on the ground. Inexplicably, QB Jayden Flora attempted 51 passes, completing just 22 for 171 yards and a 35.6 rating.

Penalties, turnovers and lack of offense defined a rather boring day on the gridiron for both teams. The key stat may have been average start of drive with Seattle starting on their 43 while Houston averaged their own 19. The defense played well enough but the offense is searching for answers headed in to 1-1 Denver and their high powered passing attack.
